Domestic Bank Transfers (USD)

Please note

US users can send and receive USD using virtual account details that can be generated within the Krak app. These virtual account details in your name can be used to move money to and from US-based bank accounts using ACH (Automated Clearing House), RTP (Real-Time Payments), or FedNow. For background on how ACH works generally, see ACH transfers explained.

  1. 1

    Log into your Krak account.

  2. 2

Tap Send to a Bank Account.

  3. 3

Add in your recipient's details if they are a new contact (name, account number, and routing number) or select an existing recipient from your addresses.

  4. 4

Enter the amount you want to send.

  5. 5

Once you have reviewed, tap confirm.

USD payments are made via ACH — usually 1–2 business days.

You can receive payments directly into your Krak account.

What affects timing?

  • •

Bank holidays and weekends may delay processing — ACH transfers are processed on business days only and do not settle on weekends or US federal holidays.

  • •

First-time recipients might require additional verification checks.

  • •

Large payments can take longer to clear.

  • •

Recipient's bank processing time may vary.

Sometimes a transfer can’t be completed — for example, because of incorrect account details or because the receiving bank rejects it. When that happens, the payment is “returned” with a reason code, and the funds move back. If a transfer involving your Krak account is returned, we’ll update your balance and the payment status accordingly.

There are no fees associated with sending or receiving USD from a counterparty using the virtual account details in the app.

A trading fee may apply if a balance other than USD is used to send funds off platform.

We set limits to help keep your account secure and ensure compliance with payment regulations. Your limits can be viewed within Settings within the app.
