US Krak Card disputes and unauthorized transactions

Last updated: 5 жніўня 2026 г.

We understand how stressful unexpected transactions or issues with a purchase can be. You can file a dispute directly in the Krak app. Please familiarize yourself with our terms of service on disputes and unauthorized transactions.

Common reasons to dispute

  • You didn’t authorize the purchase.

  • You were charged the wrong amount.

  • There was a problem with the goods or services you received.

Before you file

Please check these first — they may explain the charge:

  • Is the merchant name different from the one you saw at checkout?

  • Do the time, date, or location match something you may have forgotten?

  • Could it be part of a subscription, fee, or tip?

If any of these apply, a dispute may not be possible and resolving it could take longer.

Tap your settings, then tap Support, where you’ll find how to file a dispute.

You’ll also find the details in your Krak app Inbox.

Investigation timelines

US clients are protected by Regulation E (Electronic Fund Transfer Act). After you file an eligible dispute:

  • If we are unable to complete our investigation within 10 business days, we will provide a provisional credit for the disputed amount while the investigation continues.

  • Investigations are generally completed within 45 days of receiving your notice of error (up to 90 days for certain transaction types, such as point-of-sale or foreign transactions).

  • If we determine an error occurred, we will correct it within one business day of that determination and notify you of the results within three business days.

  • If we determine no error occurred, we will notify you and may reverse any provisional credit, in line with Regulation E.

Disputes for US transactions are submitted to Visa by Stripe on Kraken’s behalf, in accordance with Visa’s dispute rules. You do not need to contact Stripe directly — manage everything through the Krak app.
