Certain transactions, such as ACH purchases, PayPal, debit or credit card purchases or digital wallet purchases will trigger a temporary (72 hour) withdrawal hold on the account, for security purposes. Cash deposits via ACH Plaid are held from withdrawal for 7 days. This hold applies to withdrawals in any crypto or fiat currency.
If required and shown in the deposit instructions, make sure your deposit includes a reference to your Kran Public account ID which starts with AA and is 16 characters lon - this can be found under your account, and then account details.
A deposit or withdrawal being On Hold means that it was flagged for one of the reasons below.
Some On Hold deposits and withdrawals are automatically released after a certain period of time, while other On Hold deposits and withdrawals will require manual intervention from the Krak Support team.
Reason | Description | Solution |
|---|---|---|
Based on your verification status, there are limits to how much you can deposit within 24 hours and within 30 days. | Above funding limit or wait for your daily or monthly limits to reset. | |
Name mismatch | The name on your Krak account and bank account must match. | The deposit or withdrawal will most likely have to be returned or cancelled. |
Irregular activities | Your bank has asked us to put a hold. | Wait for instructions from Krak Support. |
Password change | If you make any changes to your password, withdrawals to new withdrawal addresses will be held for up to 24 hours, for security purposes. Addresses that you already added to your account won’t be affected. | Wait for the 24 hours to pass. |
Reasons unique to deposits:
Reason | Description | Solution |

Bank deposits need to include your reference number so we know which account to assign it to. | Wait for instructions from Krak Support. | |
Unverified account | As of March 2019, we no longer accept deposits from unverified accounts. | Get verified. |
Duplicate deposits | You made multiple deposits of the same amount within a 72 hour period. | Wait for it to be automatically released. Use different deposit amounts when sending multiple deposits in the future. |
Important: In some circumstances, we might not be able to release an On Hold deposit and it will have to be sent back. If your On Hold deposit is in the process of being returned, an equal amount of funds in your existing balances will also be placed on-hold until the deposit status changes to Returned.
